Student Dress Code

Graystone Academy Charter School (GACS) students will be required to follow the designated school dress code.  The Board of Trustees has chosen the dress code standards for the 2002-2003 school year.  Parents are able to purchase clothing pieces from any suppliers that match the chosen colors and standards.   The policy is designed to help all of us focus on our primary mission of education and help to promote an orderly, safe, and respectful learning environment.  Adherence to this code is the responsibility of students and parents.  The teachers and administrators share enforcement of this code.  GACS reserves the right to interpret the code and make adjustments as necessary.

For the purposes of this dress code, Gang Paraphernalia is defined by the local law enforcement authority for the Coatesville Area School District (CASD).  The definition will be ever changing as the times and conditions identify new paraphernalia.  The GACS Board will work closely with the CASD to identify any new paraphernalia and will endeavor to keep the GACS a neutral campus.  If the student is found wearing any attire or accessory that is currently being identified to indicate Gang Membership, the parent will be contacted and asked that the child no longer wear the item in dispute for the child’s safety as well as the rest of the student body.
